Privacy Policy

Last updated 15 July 2026.

This policy explains how [YOUR LEGAL / TRADING NAME] (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you use this NCEA Level 3 Calculus practice app (the “Service”). We follow the Privacy Act 2020. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions.

1. What we collect

2. Why we collect it, and how we use it

We use your information only to run and improve the Service: to sign you in, to check your answers and generate hints, to show your progress and readiness, to take payment for a subscription, to respond to problem reports and support requests, to keep the Service secure, and to meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Who we share it with, and where it goes

We use trusted third-party providers to run the Service, and some of them are overseas. When information is processed outside New Zealand we take reasonable steps, as required by the Privacy Act 2020, to make sure it is protected by comparable safeguards (for example, through our providers’ contractual and privacy commitments). By using the Service you consent to this overseas processing. Our main providers are:

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.

4. Students under 18

Many of our users are secondary school students, and some are under 18. We only collect what we need to run the Service, and we do not knowingly ask children for more personal information than necessary. If you are under 18, please use the Service with a parent, guardian, or teacher’s knowledge, and do not enter personal details about yourself or others into answer or feedback boxes. A parent or guardian can contact us about their child’s information using the details below.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as you have an account, so your progress is there when you return each exam season, and then only as long as we reasonably need it (for example, to meet tax or legal requirements for billing records). When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information unless we are required to keep some of it.

6. Keeping it secure

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including sign-in protection, access controls, and reputable providers. Answer content used for checking and hints is handled on our servers and by the providers above; the correct answers themselves are never sent to your browser. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to reduce the risk, and we will act on any privacy breach as the Privacy Act 2020 requires.

7. Your rights: access and correction

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. You can also ask us to delete your account and data. Email harrisson.jull@gmail.com and we will respond as required by the Privacy Act 2020. Some of this is also available to you directly in the app (your progress, and cancelling or managing billing).

8. Cookies and similar technology

We use only the cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and to remember settings such as your light or dark theme. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

9. Complaints

If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first at harrisson.jull@gmail.com or [YOUR NEW ZEALAND CONTACT ADDRESS] and we will try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “last updated” date above, and for significant changes we will give notice in the app or by email.

11. Contact

For anything about your privacy or this policy, contact us at harrisson.jull@gmail.com or [YOUR NEW ZEALAND CONTACT ADDRESS].
